The Child Counseling Program is staffed by licensed professionals from various disciplines (psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors). We also serve as a training site for graduate students in these disciplines from a number of universities.

We use a variety of evidence based treatments including Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Our therapists are trained in treatment for traumatized children who have been sexually and physically abused. We specialize in groups for teenage boys and girls. Our therapists work closely with school principals and teachers through consultation to coordinate services and facilitate educational progress for each child at his/her school.

An additional service we offer is psychological testing for any child in the mental health system. We use psychological assessments with our clients to obtain essential information (cognitive ability, academic achievement, emotional functioning) in order to better understand the child in meeting with the school and working with the parent/guardian and child.

Pharmacological assessment and management for our registered clients is available by a team of psychiatrists and/or a clinical nurse specialist. Community psychiatric services and treatment (case management) providers monitor the clients' school progress, assist in crisis stabilization, and refer families to other needed community resources.
