The Child Counseling Program is staffed by licensed mental health professionals from various disciplines (psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors). The Program also serves as a training site in these disciplines for graduate students from a number of universities.

The Child Counseling Program uses a variety of evidence-based brief treatment models. Therapists are trained in treatment for traumatized children who have been sexually and physically abused. The Program specializes in groups for teenage boys and girls. Therapists work closely with school principals and teachers to coordinate services and facilitate educational progress for each child at his/her school.

Psychological testing is available to children who have identified as having learning issues. Testing determines possible solutions for teachers and parents to help the child be successful in the school setting.

Medication assessment and management for children is available by psychiatrists and/or a clinical nurse specialist. Community-based staff assists children and their families in following a treatment plan around progress in school and provides referrals to any needed community resources.
